... has come to be the head cornerstone. Ps 118:22
Team, i am proud of you for all of your accomplishments, this was the hardest game yet. like true warriors, you won this game despite adversity, that's exactly what champions do. so for that, congratulations. however, now's not the time to relax, in fact it's time to work even harder. the little voice in your head that you're going to hear, telling you that you've earned some rest and relaxation is your enemy, and you need to defeat it by working even harder and having even more discipline.
Your success is no accident, you've earned it through hard work. we learned in the first round that nothing is given in rugby, you have to earn what you get. lets keep showing up to practice and even make a better effort to make it to the friday practice. remember, we all agreed that we wanted to be a better team, so we decided to go with an extra practice on friday because Saturday was too close to the game. so let's reach that next level like i know we can.
BTW I see potential in you as a team to be among the best in the state. the sky is the limit for you, really!
With that said, let's take some time to reflect on some of the team values: (they're not just words filling up a page that we needed to write some garbage on for presentation)
first of all
Honor - we need to show honor to our teammates. they are all out there just like you sacrificing their bodies for your success. that BS competition on facebook about who is more hurt than who needs to stop, you all know better than that! Anyone who fights for the NE spartans is our brother and is appreciated.
Respect - for your teamates, for coaches, and for your opponents. they are just kids like you, involved in something they beleive in and trying to win. what happens on the field stays on the field. same with your teammates, have respect and help each other (in a positive way) to develop. lastly respect the coaches. the things that we do, we do for a reason. we are trying to build a winning team where no one is indispensible. and where everyone can be held accountable. in the long run this provides for a better environment for everyone.
last thing, it makes me even prouder that you guys are winning without all that smacktalk that went on the first 2 or 3 games. A win is a win but you guys are doing it with class, and that says alot about your character.
Peace out!
