Our History I started the team back in the winter of 2007 for play in 2008. There were only two other teams in El Paso, the Cathedral Irish and the Westside Crusaders. We had many boys come to play for us but our turnover ratio was high from players moving out of town. Originally I pondered the idea of making it the Chapin Huskies Rugby Football Club but our recruiting base would have been narrowed and I wanted to include boys from throughout northeast El Paso. We have also had interest among girls to make their own team called the Northeast Lady Spartans but only one problem...there was no one else to play in El Paso. Maybe someday that will change. We also plan to create a men's club-side for all our ex U-19 players so that they may continue their rugby career and even a U-14 side to get those started. Many of our athletes have made the El Paso Select-side of our union and we strive to continue that tradition.
